Inspiring the Next Generation is a one-day (or multi-day) outreach event aimed at engaging young learners in fun, hands-on activities that highlight the importance of sustainability. Polytechnic students serve as volunteer facilitators—designing and running interactive stations, workshops, and challenges that empower younger students to make environmentally responsible choices in their daily lives. Objective: Raise Environmental Awareness: Educate primary/secondary students about pressing environmental issues (e.g., waste reduction, energy conservation, protecting biodiversity).

Be involved in landscape maintenance and pick up basic gardening skills (e.g., weeding, mulching, pruning, and planting). You’ll learn how to identify invasive species, remove unwanted weeds efficiently, and apply mulch properly to conserve soil moisture and suppress future weed growth. Get hands-on experience with pruning techniques to promote healthy plant development, and discover best practices for planting new flowers, shrubs, or trees. Throughout the process, you’ll become familiar with basic gardening tools, safety protocols, and sustainable landscape management methods, all while contributing to a cleaner, greener environment.
